'3 Strikes' graphic

The Government introduces 'The Voluntary Copyright Alert Programme’ (aka 'The Creative Content UK Alert Programme' ).  Basically an 'education programme' of sending letters to pointing out the error of their ways and suggesting how they might legitimately get (=buy) 'stuff'. The main concerns of copyright holders are with mass downloading of film and music.

This new scheme suspends the proposed "three strikes and you're out" approach of the Digital Economy Act (DEA) - BUT, if the new scheme is not effective the Government will revert to the original DEA proposals.
